AMD Ryzen 7 3800XT: Upcoming 8 core desktop processor spotted with the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 in Ashes of the Singularity benchmark
The AMD Ryzen 7 3800XT has been benchmarked in Ashes of the Singularity. The result, published by @_rogame on Twitter, confirms that the Ryzen 7 3800XT is an 8 core processor which supports Simultaneous Multithreading (SMT). While the benchmark result does not reveal the clock speeds at which the processor was operating, it is expecting that the Ryzen 7 3800XT will have a 3.9 GHz base clock and a boost clock of between 4.7-4.8 GHz.
Paired with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080, the Ryzen 7 3800XT achieved a score of 7,400 on the Crazy_1080p preset. As the image below demonstrates, this preset represents the gaming being run at high graphics settings with 16 million shading samples and 12 million terrain shading samples. Additionally, Anti-Aliasing was set to 4x. The game was run on DirectX 12, too.
The benchmark result also reports that the CPU achieved an average framerate of 113.2 FPS, with framerates for the normal, medium and heavy batches registered at 135.9, 115.3 and 95.5 FPS respectively. As one commenter replying to the tweet published by @_rogame points out, these scores represent around a “10% uplift from a 3800X”.
It is unclear when AMD plans to release the Ryzen 7 3800XT. However, we do know that it will be joined by at least the Ryzen 5 3600XT and Ryzen 9 3900XT. The processors, dubbed Matisse Refresh or Matisse 2, will bridge the gap until AMD releases its next-generation Vermeer processors. With the latter expected to arrive in September, the Ryzen 7 3800XT may only be a month or so away from being released.
